| The province covers the area from Kruger National Park in the east,
across the Mpumalanga Drakensberg to areas closer to Pretoria and
Johannesburg such as the Welgevonden, Lapalala Wilderness and on to
South Africa’s northern border with Botswana and Zimbabwe. It is an
area of exceptional beauty with fantastic mountain ranges, rivers,
wildlife and country destinations and a rich colourful history.
The lowveld is big game country and the opportunities for close,
spectacular encounters with Africa’s "Big 5" and especially the big
cats is unparalleled anywhere else in Africa. The bushveld environment,
interspersed with rivers such as the Limpopo, Olifants, Luvuvhu,
Shingwedzi and many others, is a fitting backdrop to this beautiful
region. The area has an efficient infrastructure and supports the various
private game and country lodges from both a logistical and guest access
          perspective.
