Lush indigenous vegetation and forests, framed by majestic mountain
ranges on one side and the Indian Ocean with its pristine white beaches
on the other, makes the Garden Route, situated along the southern coast
of South Africa, one of the most beautiful parts of the country.
Hog Hollow Country Lodge, a private nature reserve, is situated eighteen
kilometres east of the small coastal town of Plettenberg Bay providing
guests with an ideal base to explore the Garden Route.
The lodge includes two lounge areas, one leading out to the sun drenched
pool area, whilst the other offers the privacy of leafy garden views,
ideal for reading. Twelve uniquely individual rooms offer uninterrupted
views over the indigenous forests and Tsitsikamma Mountains. These
comfortable en-suite African-styled rooms are decorated in earthy colours,
naturally woven fabrics, and African artifacts.
Hog Hollow is well known for its delectable food and friendly, personalised
service, with breakfasts and dinners being thoroughly convivial and enjoyable affairs.
The area offers a range of attractions including guided nature walks in
the reserve, bird watching, mountain biking, horse riding trails and
sea kayaking.
For the brave, jump the highest bungi jump in the world, or
explore Robberg and Storms River Mouth Nature Reserves. A unique and
exciting feature of the bay is the abundance of marine mammals, which
one may view on a boat-based whale and dolphin-watching excursion.
