Northern KwaZulu-Natal is the traditional home of the Zulu people and is also big game country. Coastal conservation areas such as the St. Lucia estuary, Cape Vidal and Sodwana encompass both wildlife areas and the most southerly coastal coral reefs in the world. Hluhluwe, Umfolozi, Mkuzi and Ndumo and the surrounding private reserves encompass an astonishing array of wildlife and bird life.
