| The South Luangwa National Park ranks as one of the finest in Africa with an incredible variety of wildlife and birds. The park is bordered by the Muchinga escarpment and the Luangwa River, whose maze of lagoons and riverine forests create a reserve of exceptional beauty. The seasonal changes are pronounced with the dry season being the best time of year to experience the park. As the river drops at the end of the rainy season, the river leaves isolated lagoons or dambos, drawing a tremendous quantity and variety of wildlife to the area. As the dambos dry, these vast gatherings of wildlife concentrate along the river. The area is ideal for both vehicle as well as walking safaris. Game viewing takes place in open safari vehicles with qualified guides in the early morning and the late afternoon. | | | The patio at Chinzombo | | | | Chinzombo Safari Lodge is nestled in amongst a grove of ebony and mahogany trees on the banks of the Luangwa River.
