| For most of the year, the Etosha saltpans in Botswana lie dormant until the rains arrive in early December. Elephant, giraffe, springbok, oryx, lion, wildebeest, zebra and other African animals flock to the pans. Most impressive of all is the arrival of the flamingos to feed on the algae soup in the pans. In the winter months the grasslands provide sustenance to the many grazers in the reserve. As the grasses disappear and the waters of the pan recede, the animals move into areas surrounding perennial waterholes in the reserve. The waterholes of Etosha are prolific with magnificent wildlife sightings to be seen and enjoyed. | | | Sumptuous dining under thatch with magnificent views from the deck | | | | Etosha Aoba Lodge is located on Etosha’s eastern boundary.
