Sparrebosch Clifftop Estate and Country Club

One of the most recognisable sights along South Africa's 3000 kilometre coastline is the majestic entrance to the Knysna Lagoon - The Heads. Knysna, situated 500 kilometres East of Cape Town, is the very epicentre of the famous Garden Route, a meeting place for the Outeniqua Mountains, pristine natural forests and the Indian Ocean. It is convergence of these three that makes Knysna, and in particular the Heads, a highly sought after location worldwide.

The exclusive Sparrebosch Clifftop Estate and Country Club, nestled on the Eastern Head, offers some of the most desirable residential properties available in the country today. The two lounge areas are comfortably furnished with Kudu hide chairs and soft African coloured couches and chairs. Each lounge also hosts a soul-warming fireplace for cosy afternoon teas or sundowners (serviced by our bar). Both lounges have magnificent views of the ocean and 18-hole golf course.

The 100-seater terrace with umbrellas and wooden garden furniture overlooks the Estate and Ocean. It is utilised for sunny breakfasts, teas, sundowners, bar snacks and light terrace lunches, which include deliciously filled foccacios, breads, pastas, salads or even sweet treats to tantalise your taste buds.

The restaurant & function facility on the Estate is situated a mere 10 minutes from the centre of Knysna. The restaurant, two lounge areas and a centred bar stand within the Country Club House which echoes an Art Deco and Retro theme. Designed in a contemporary Cape Vernacular Style, the ambience is African from the earthy shades of the furniture and decor right up to the exposed natural timber trusses lining the sky lit arches above.

Sparrebosch also has an exceptionally rich natural environment. It is home to no less than 119 species of birds and over 240 varieties of Fynbos (the Afrikaans name given to this type of vegetation which only occurs in South Africa!). The estate has been methodically planned to ensure not only the conservation of this unique natural resource, but its enhancement. With this in mind we have ensured that over 50% of the estate remains open and untouched - as there is no beauty like natural beauty.
